The Tamil Naatukoli Koli Virunthu restaurant which lives up to its name is situated on the Karur to Coimbatore highway between Pongalur and Avinashipalayam. Although the menu and tables are limited, the taste of the dishes surpasses all expectations.
Their menu offers a variety of dishes including country chicken biryani, mutton fry, mutton intestine, country chicken chinthamani, country chicken fry, country chicken kulambu, fish kulambu rice, and rasam.
The Naatukoli biryani is particularly noteworthy, as it is rare to find such high-quality biryani in a village-style eatery like this. The biryani was delicious and very desirable to eat.
All of the dishes had an incredible flavor. The Naatukoli chinthamani and Kudal were particularly outstanding. The Naatukoli chinthamani had the perfect blend of whole red chilies, which complemented the rice. The mutton intestine had a unique flavor and went well with the rice.
The mutton fry and chicken fry were also tasty, but the masalas used in both dishes tasted the same due to the same spices used. A slight variation in the masala mix could have brought out a different flavor.
The Naatukoli kulambu was served in a clay pot and had a watery consistency, which made it a perfect accompaniment to the rice. The fish kulambu and patchapuli rasam were equally excellent.
Finally, to end this satisfying meal, you can choose between ice cream or cold milk payasam, both of which were delicious.
If you are going in a group, it is advisable to call the owner beforehand and inform them.
Overall, the food at this restaurant is an excellent representation of Kongu Naatu Samayal.
Prices are as follows:
Naatukoli fry - 200/-
Naatukoli chinthamani - 200/-
Mutton - 250/-
Mutton intestine - 200/-
Tawa fish - 50/-

சூப்பரானா பரோட்டா+நாட்டு கோழி குழம்பு - மட்டன், குடல், நாட்டு கோழி வருவல் செய்து அசத்தும் இந்த மெஸ்Google Maps Location ;Ammayappar Mess
Nestled just before the charming town of Kulithalai, lies the Ammayappar mess - a hidden gem that will tantalize your taste buds. To get there, you will have to take a slight detour from the bustling Karur to Trichy national highway but trust us, it's well worth it.
Once you arrive, prepare yourself for an unforgettable culinary experience. The non-veg dishes are the stars of the show, featuring mouth-watering options like mutton, country chicken, and mutton intestine fry. For lunch, you can indulge in white rice or flaky parotta, along with your choice of veg or non-veg curries.
But what really sets Ammayappar mess apart from other eateries in the area are their signature gravies. Unlike most places that only offer thanni kulambu, Ammayappar mess boasts thick mutton and Kudal kulambu which will leave you craving for more. In fact, the gravies are so delicious that they outshine the meat itself!
The chicken kulambu is a must-try. The thin consistency pairs perfectly with the parotta, making it one of the best parotta and chicken kulambu combinations you'll ever taste.
Overall, the non-veg dishes are superb, although the country chicken meat can be a bit hard. On the other hand, the parotta is soft, crispy on the outside, and generously sized, making it the perfect accompaniment to any curry.
Before you leave, don't forget to check out the Manikkam mess adjacent to Ammaiappar. It's also highly recommended, and we'll be reviewing it soon. So, if you're traveling via Karur to Trichy and beyond, be sure to stop by Ammaiappar mess for a satisfying lunch that will leave you wanting more.

Arfa Chicken Park - Karur
Finding authentic Mandhi Biryani or Hyderabad Biryani in Karur used to be a difficult task. However, Arfa Chicken Park has made it easy for foodies to enjoy these dishes along with other delicious chicken delicacies. The restaurant boasts a fantastic ambiance and has several halls to accommodate customers.
The Arab-style dining hall with low tables and chairs is perfect for a unique dining experience. There's also a party room with disco lights, a waiter calling bells, and cell phone charging points at each table.
While there are many dishes to choose from, we highly recommend the chicken Mandi biryani, chicken Hyderabad biryani, Ustadi kebab, chicken shawarma, KFC fried chicken, fried momos, and mojitos. The chicken Mandi biryani is a standout dish with its flavorful long-grain basmati rice and juicy chicken coated in the perfect masala. The Hyderabadi biryani is also excellent, although we would have preferred more biryani masala in the rice.
The Ustadi kebab served on a skewer, is a must-try dish. The chicken is juicy, and the roasted burned flavor on the outside is mouth-watering. The KFC fried chicken is another favorite, with its freshly cut meat and accurate KFC taste.
The chicken shawarma is a unique take on the classic dish, with the chicken from the kebab stick minced and rolled into shawarma. The charcoal-burned chicken taste adds a new dimension to the dish. The fried momos and mojitos are also excellent choices.
To finish off your meal, the sizzling brownie is a treat. Watching the sauce being poured onto the hot pan in front of you adds an extra element of excitement. The soft brownie, combined with the sauce and ice cream, is simply fantastic.
Overall, Arfa Chicken Park is an excellent place to enjoy a satisfying meal with your family. It's a boon to the foodies of Karur.
Their menu is simple, with biryani available only on occasion, but they offer rice, mutton fry, country chicken fry, mutton intestine (Kudal) fry, and mutton head (Thala) fry. Additionally, they provide mutton gravy (kulambu) and country chicken kulambu to go with the rice. The mutton and country chicken dishes have a true home-cooked taste, with the perfect level of spiciness and saltiness that you would find in your own home-cooked meals. The only downside is that the meat pieces are too big, and smaller cuts could enhance the dishes.
The mutton kulambu and the country chicken kulambu are even better. They have a thin, watery consistency that allows you to mix them well with rice. Both of the kulambu are amazing. The curd they serve is rich and thick, and the pacha puli rasam, made in three or four different ways, is fantastic.
The food has a great home-cooked feel, but the prices are high for a place like this. The quantity they serve for the price is unfair, and they could either increase the quantity or lower the prices.
Overall, the food is excellent and feels like a home away from home.

Who doesn't love a good, hearty meal that's easy on the wallet? And when it comes to non-veg meals, the prices can often be quite steep. But what if we told you that you could enjoy a non-veg meal with 5 varieties of non-veg items, unlimited rice, and kulambu, all for just 50 INR? Sounds unbelievable, right? But it's true! And the credit goes to the owner of Insuvai Unavagam, a small eatery situated in Muthunaikanpetti near Omalur, Salem.
The owner of Insuvai Unavagam has made it possible to serve a delicious non-veg meal at an affordable price. The food is cooked at home and brought to the service place one by one in a two-wheeler. Once all the dishes are set up, they start issuing tokens. A person can get as many tokens as they want, and each token costs just 50 INR.The meal comprises of rice and other non-veg items like broiler chicken, chicken liver, mutton head curry, mutton blood poriyal, and chicken manchurian, all served on a plate. The broiler chicken fry is of a larger quantity, while the other items are of a smaller quantity. Each dish is cooked to perfection, and the taste is fantastic. The dishes complement the rice perfectly, and there's also chicken kulambu that you can serve yourself, which also tasted great.
The crowd at Insuvai Unavagam is always bustling, and it's not hard to see why. The food is delicious, and the price is unbeatable. The staffs are kind and work fast to serve all the people. It's best to be there at 11:30 am so that you don't miss out on the food. As of now, 600 tokens are issued per lunch, so if you're late, the food might be over sometimes. In conclusion, if you're in Salem and craving a delicious non-veg meal that won't put a dent in your pockets, Insuvai Unavagam is the place to be. It's hard to find a better deal than this, and the taste of the food will leave you wanting more. So, head over to Insuvai Unavagam and treat your taste buds to a delicious and satisfying lunch.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're looking for a unique dining experience on the Coimbatore to Karur highway, just before Kangeyam look no further than the family restaurant with beautiful hut rooms that have thatched roofs. With open-air dining and a screen to play movies, this restaurant offers a great ambiance that's perfect for a romantic dinner or a fun family gathering. However, while the restaurant's ambiance and setting are truly impressive, the food is just okay, and the prices are high for the quality of the dishes.
Let's start with the atmosphere. The hut rooms with thatched roofs provide a cozy and comfortable atmosphere that transports you to a different world. The open-air dining adds to the feeling of being close to nature, and the screen for movies provides a unique and fun experience. The restaurant is decorated with rustic wooden furniture, and the lighting is dim and warm, creating an intimate and relaxing environment.
But let's get to the food. While the dishes offered are normal, they're not outstanding, especially given the high prices. The restaurant boasts a menu of classic local dishes with a few fusion options, but the dishes lacked the depth of flavor that one might expect from a high-end restaurant. The portion sizes are not particularly generous, and the presentation is average, which can be disappointing given the high prices.
Additionally, the service is somewhat lacking. While the staff is friendly, they don't seem particularly knowledgeable about the menu, and the waiting times can be long, especially during peak hours. There are also some inconsistencies in the quality of the food, which can be frustrating given the high prices.
All that being said, the restaurant's ambiance and atmosphere make it worth a visit. The experience of dining in a hut room with a thatched roof, surrounded by nature and enjoying a movie is truly unique and memorable. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion or spend a romantic evening with a loved one. But it's important to keep in mind that the food may not be as outstanding as the ambiance, and it may not be worth the high prices for some diners.
In conclusion, while the family restaurant with beautiful hut rooms that have thatched roofs and an open-air dining area with a movie screen offers a unique and memorable dining experience, the food and prices leave something to be desired. It's worth a visit for the ambiance, but diners should manage their expectations when it comes to the food and be prepared for a high bill.

Indulge in a tantalizing breakfast experience at Tentu kotail undu mahil, located on the Avinashi to Metupalayam road in Avinashi. This charming eatery serves up a delightful selection of Kudal fry, country chicken Pallipalayam, idly, parotta, and more.
Savor the taste of their mutton intestine Kudal fry, which is average in taste, but the country chicken Pallipalayam is truly divine. The gravy that accompanies the idly and parotta is a must-try, with the country chicken gravy being the clear winner. For a truly delectable experience, make sure to ask for the country chicken gravy to accompany your meal.
The dish known as "Country Chicken Sinthamani" includes coconut pieces, so instead of referring to it as Sinthamani, it could be called "Country Chicken Pallipalayam" to distinguish it from similar dishes with slight variations.
The Pallipalayam dish is ideal for serving with rice, although I haven't tried it with rice yet. This country-style chicken Pallipalayam is specifically made to be paired with rice, and I am confident that the combination will be excellent
Take a break from your travels and treat yourself to a delicious meal at Tentu kotail undu mahil. A visit to this charming eatery is a must for anyone on the way to Ooty via Avinashi.
Located near the airport, Ramar Resto is a Kerala cuisine restaurant…. I liked the ambiance here which was pleasing …The lunch was amazing here, the Satti soru the star dish is definitely worth mentioning. Priced at 250 inr, the Satti soru which is served in a clay pot consists of Kerala matti rice, a fish fry, nethili fish fry, two kinds of curry fish, squid, omelet, and a appalam.
You need not serve the contents of the clay pot on a plate, you can have it just like thatThe taste was just amazing … a different kind of experience since eating directly from the pot was something new. Each item in the clay pot was just perfectly cooked and when mixed together they tasted amazing … Few things can’t just be said in words but felt so don’t miss this dish if you are here.
Other dishes like the mandi biryani, kingfish tawa fry, Korean chicken, and prawn roast all tasted good … the kingfish tawa fry was also excellent and had to have a special mention. A big slice with perfect masalas and extraordinary taste .., I just love it.
And finally to finish this splendid meal we had a dessert kissbat which was banana custard topped with vanilla Icecream, which was so amazing … the banana custard had coconut and nuts mixed in them and was a perfect dessert.A must try place that you should miss in a lifetime

Located a few kilometers from Erode city, Palanisamy Duck Eatery is a small hut-style eatery that specializes in serving homemade duck curry and idly.
Idly and Duck curry will be available from 12 pm to 8 pm. This place is a simple hut-type eatery where you get to enjoy hot idlis. The idlis were hot and soft, and So was the duck curry. It had a homemade taste.
Although the taste is good, comparing this place to eateries in velayuthampalayam like Kathirvel vaathu kadai which is famous for its duck curry, the taste of Palani Samy vaathu kadai is just average
A simple place where you can have a quick idly and duck curry.
Although all the dishes were good.., I could recommend going here for breakfast. The soft parotta and the mutton intestine fry were outstanding (Link to the video below)
https://youtu.be/O7YFBipkUQg
So compared to their breakfast, I could say that their lunch was just average. But if you are in this area for lunch, then Kumaran mess is a good option to have a good biryani or meals with fish fry and chicken fry.
