A family restaurant with a great ambiance and abundant parking. Rajavirunthu family restaurant is situated in omalur on the Salem to Bangalore highway… a prominently visible restaurant to the left….

Since the raajavirunthu special meals combo was a hit here I thought Of trying it out.. costing 700 rs, the raajavirunthu special meals combo had chicken soup, biryani of our choice ( mutton or chicken), white rice, mutton chukka, chicken chukka, fish Manchurian, egg Kaima, fish fry, chicken tandoori, chicken tangiri kebab, boiled egg, prawn chukka, mutton kulambu, chicken kulambu , fish kulambu, buttermilk …

The portions were limited … and only a few dishes like the prawn chukka, mutton chukka, and tangiri leg kebab tasted exceptional.. All the other dishes were average … but was this special meal combo with 700 rs is a big question here …

                                          

                                          

For this price UBM hotel near erode serves more dishes and more quantity or if you go to the barbecue nation we could get a lot more options for this price … Although the food is good, for 700 rs I don’t think you should go with this combo instead you can try some other dishes individually…..

The liquid nitrogen frozen biscuits or smoking biscuits had at a price of 50 INR per piece…. Or 3 wafers for 50 rs… The liquid nitrogen is poured into a bowl where the biscuits are kept which freezes the biscuits in seconds… when we have the frozen biscuits cool smoke comes out of our mouths and nostrils… a good theater ..

                                     

There is not much of a taste difference between the normal biscuit versus the frozen .. but you can try it for the show and the smoke… If you are here try the fire beeda… although I did not get a chance to do so…

This place is called the soakku hotel which is situated 7 km from Salem at a place called sarkar kollapatti, which serves rice with mutton curry, mutton intestine, and country chicken curry from 8 in the morning….There are no tiffin items here. Rice with non-veg dishes, rasam, and curd right from 8 in the morning…

The mutton curry tasted amazing .., the thannni kulambu with rice was a great combination… Since I went here early I did not get a chance to try the mutton intestine and country chicken curry… so if you have plans to go here I would recommend going in the afternoon so that you get more non-veg options…

                                      If you want to try rice in the morning then 9 or 9.30 in the morning will be a perfect time… This place is an interior village… the roads may be small …. A great food experience that I recommend you to try…
