This quaint eatery, reminiscent of a classic mess, proudly presents a tantalizing array of non-vegetarian dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A unique gem where vegetarian side dishes like kootu or poriyal are notably absent, catering expressly to the discerning palates of meat enthusiasts. For those with an insatiable craving for non-veg delicacies, Thaai Mess is an absolute paradise.
My visit during breakfast hours at 8:30 am revealed an enticing spread of dishes ready to satiate the taste buds. From the savory Mutton Intestine (Kudal) to the aromatic Mutton Curry, the culinary offerings were tantalizing. Although dishes like Mutton Head (Thala) Curry and Naatukoli required a touch more time, it was evident that by lunchtime, the entire repertoire would be impeccably prepared.
Opting for the traditional Idly to complement the piping hot Mutton Kulambu was a delightful choice. The marriage of flavors between the tender meat and the rich, flavorful gravy was exquisite. One could even request the succulent mutton to be crisped with onions on a sizzling tawa, and thus, I savored the tantalizing Mutton Fry and the flavorsome Kudal Curry. The judicious use of pepper in these dishes added a delightful zing to the tender meat, while the Kudal Curry's thick consistency, packed with onions, proved to be an equal delight.

Curiosity piqued, I indulged in a soft Parotta to explore its compatibility with these sumptuous curries. The experience surpassed expectations; the Parotta served as the perfect canvas for the flavors of the Mutton Curry, Mutton Fry, and Kudal, enhancing their essence. As I neared the end of my culinary adventure, the aroma of freshly prepared broiler chicken wafted through the air. Not wanting to miss out, I promptly ordered a plate. While the taste was satisfactory, akin to any well-prepared broiler chicken, it left no room for complaint. This breakfast affair at Thaai Mess was an enchanting experience, leaving an indelible mark. I've already made plans to return soon for their lunch offerings, eager to embark on yet another gastronomic journey at this delightful establishment. ------------------------------------------------------------------
