Ravana Falls is my first Travel vlog, So let's get straight to it.
I have put together this complete guide of Ravana Falls including how to get there and what to expect!
A short 10-minute drive down the mountainside from the main street in Ella is where you will find Ravana Falls.
The cheapest option is to jump on a local bus from the Ella bus stop, which will cost you 50 Rupees.
The other option is to jump in the back of a tuk-tuk and the price will be anywhere between 300-500 Rupees.
The falls got its name, because Ravana of ramayanam epic ruled these places. There are a lot of caves here where it it said that Ravana imprisoned Sita, Wife of Rama for a while. Ravana Falls is a 3-tier cascading waterfall that gushes down a rock face, creating rock pools along its path.

It is not recommended by the locals to venture any higher than the first set of falls but there are no signs or barriers prohibiting this, But if you have the risk factor in you , you can venture out even further. There are trails to the side of the falls which leads to the top.
People traveling to Kataragama temple from Colombo taking the hillside route will pass through this falls
Altogether an amazing place with a lot of history to Hindu mythology and a great view.
