If you haven't tried a true home-cooked non-vegetarian meal with mutton, country chicken, mutton intestine fry, and mutton head curry, then you must visit Kari Soru Mess in Namakkalwhich is located on the highway's service road, just as you enter Namakkal town. This small eatery serves only lunch.
Their menu is simple, with biryani available only on occasion, but they offer rice, mutton fry, country chicken fry, mutton intestine (Kudal) fry, and mutton head (Thala) fry. Additionally, they provide mutton gravy (kulambu) and country chicken kulambu to go with the rice. The mutton and country chicken dishes have a true home-cooked taste, with the perfect level of spiciness and saltiness that you would find in your own home-cooked meals. The only downside is that the meat pieces are too big, and smaller cuts could enhance the dishes.
The mutton kulambu and the country chicken kulambu are even better. They have a thin, watery consistency that allows you to mix them well with rice. Both of the kulambu are amazing. The curd they serve is rich and thick, and the pacha puli rasam, made in three or four different ways, is fantastic.
The food has a great home-cooked feel, but the prices are high for a place like this. The quantity they serve for the price is unfair, and they could either increase the quantity or lower the prices. Overall, the food is excellent and feels like a home away from home. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
